Robert Glen

Hailing from Dundee, Scotland Robert was handed his first guitar at a young age by his father, a Fender Stratocaster. Growing up in a family of musicians and performers he spent his teenage years trying to master songs by the most complex and accomplished blues guitarists. 

Despite being able to play across all genres and styles, sophisticated Blues is Robert's passion. Inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton and many more of the great blues Icons have driven him to pursue a career in music.

In 2013 Robert made the move to Wanaka, New Zealand where he started to get serious about becoming a full time musician. Following his passion he started performing at weddings, functions and events where he has made a name for himself, becoming a highly sought after performer throughout Wanaka, Queenstown and the Otago region. Now with hundreds of weddings and close to two thousand gigs under his belt he is a seasoned entertainer.

Full of charisma and charm Robert is passionate about sharing music. Continuously going above and beyond, exceeding expectations. 

Career Highlights

Not only a solo artist Robert often plays in an eclectic blues band, and enjoys cameo performances with other musicians. He also loves getting in the studio to create magic and has released an EP called Free to Fly.

Robert has been honoured to share the stage with some of New Zealand's best including: 

  • The Black Seeds at The Forsyth Stadium, 

  • Jimmy Barnes, 

  • Paul Ubana Jones

  • Swamp Thing 

  • Salmonella Dub

He has also performed at Rhythm and Alps and the CMC Rocks Festival as a guitarist.

Music and performing is Robert's passion, as an artist he is constantly adding to his repertoire and polishing his extensive talents.
